CHENNAI, India. – In advance of Special Olympics International Football Championship 2019, hosting partner Evoke Media held a series of fun football activities for the corporate employees of RMZ IT Park on the 20th and 21st of June.
The event was organized in an effort to set right misconceptions associated with intellectual disabilities and tocelebrate differences through a space where corporate folks could come out, have fun and enjoy the hilarious activities planned for them.
100+ employees from organizations such as Ford, Daimler, Omega, Verizon, Shell, Franklin, HCL, and Flex took part in a number of games like “Blind Fold”, “MissionImpossible”, “Pot the Ball” that tested the participants’ instincts, reflexes, and mobility.
Through various games, activities, and interactions with corporate employees, the two-day event brought to notice the degree to which sports can enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Besides having rib-tickling results, the event also brought about awareness ofintellectual disabilitiesthrough pamphlets and badges that were distributed to the all those present. The hundreds who participated in the event pledged to support the SOIFC 2019 and to do their part to make differently-abled people feel more welcome in our society.
